The Aepto MCP server is a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at app.aepto.com/mcp, served over Streamable HTTP. It gives Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients about 62 tools to set up domains, check monitors, read DNS history and triage what needs attention.

Every tool and its inputs: MCP tools catalog. Monitors include API, IP and port components. Domain availability uses an RDAP registration lookup, not a guarantee that a name can be bought.
How is access controlled?
- Write tools need matching scopes on the API key or Connect grant, so you decide what an assistant may change.
- Plan limits still apply to anything an assistant creates.
- Each team member connects with their own Aepto account.
- Disconnect in your MCP client, or revoke the grant under Connected apps in Aepto.
- AI tools such as domain analysis and keyword discovery use AI credits. Reading data does not.

What is the Aepto MCP server?
It is one remote Model Context Protocol server, served over Streamable HTTP at https://app.aepto.com/mcp. An MCP client such as Claude can use it to read and manage your Aepto account through about 62 tools whose names start with aepto_.
Which MCP clients work with Aepto?
Claude works through the official connector or a custom connector. Cursor and any other host that supports Streamable HTTP and a custom Authorization header can connect with an API key. Claude is the documented path. Once connected, the assistant can list monitors, uptime and incidents, and read DNS change history.
Do I need an API key to use the MCP server?
Not in Claude. You choose Sign in with Aepto and approve access. Other hosts send an API key as a Bearer token in the Authorization header. Create keys at app.aepto.com/api-keys.
Can an AI assistant change my account, or only read it?
Both. Read tools list and inspect domains, monitors, DNS and status pages. Write tools create and change them and need matching scopes on the API key or Connect grant. Plan limits still apply, and you can revoke access at any time.
Does the MCP server use AI credits?
Only the AI tools do, such as domain analysis and keyword name discovery. Reading your portfolio, monitors and DNS history does not use credits.
Is the MCP server available on the Free plan?
Yes. Free includes Basic MCP capacity and paid plans include Advanced capacity. Alert webhook tools need a paid plan. Capacity by plan is on the Pricing page.
